Application Process

Winter Greetings Prospective Forest School Families,
Thank you for expressing interest in our program. It has been an exciting, fun, and blissful school year in the Diablo Foothills with our forest schoolers and their families. With 2026 upon us, Foothills Forest School is ready to welcome new children & their families to our community!


We are now accepting admission applications for 2026 summer camp sessions (weekly camps begin on June 9th and end on July 31, 2026) AND the 2026–27 school year.

Summer Camps:
• Apply HERE for your child(ren) to attend any of our weekly summer camps. The age range is 3–11 years old.
• Find the summer camp handbook HERE.
• If you are accepted, you will hear from us and we will send necessary documents & invoice details at that time.
• The deadline for submitting a summer camp application is March 15th, 2026. However, it is highly recommended to apply as soon as possible to give your child the best chance to secure a spot in the desired weekly camps. Space is limited.
• You will hear from us with an enrollment decision no later than March 31st, 2026, but likely earlier.
• Initial payments are due no later than June 5th, 2026. See enrollment application for further payment details.

2026–27 School Year:
• Apply HERE for your child(ren) to attend the school year that begins on August 11th, 2026 and ends in May 2027. The age range is 3–6 years old.
• You will be sent copies of enrollment documents to look over for your understanding.
• You will be invited to Parent Info Night and a Family Interview Day. Attendance at ONE parent info night and ONE family interview is required for admission.
• A Parent Info Night is a virtual meeting during which you will learn all about forest school, play-based learning, and have a chance to ask questions.
• A Family Interview is when families visit our forest school and meet the director and possibly other teachers. This is also a chance to get a feel for the program and better understand whether forest school is the right fit for everyone involved.
• Parent Info Nights (via Zoom) are currently scheduled for Tuesday, January 20th and Thursday, February 26th at 7:00pm.
• Family Interview Days are currently scheduled for Wednesday, January 21st and Friday, February 27th at 10:00am.
• The deadline for submitting an application is March 31st, 2026. However, it is highly recommended to apply as soon as possible to give your child the best chance to secure a spot for the school year. Space is VERY limited.
• After the family interview, if you feel you'd like to continue with the enrollment process, you will send us an email with your request. We will respond no later than April 15th, 2026 (possibly sooner) with a decision.
